Brewmanity

Kematch was engaged directly by developers and tenants for construction of this inner-city micro brewery with Three levels of dining and entertaining spaces including Two large rooftop bars. The construction comprised of a fully functioning brewery. With nearly 1000 square metres of area, it makes it one of Australia's largest inner-city venues with a functioning Brewery. Kematch assisted from early stages with design development and budgeting in the capacity of lead coordinating contractor through Early Contractor Involvement (ECI).
Bells Loggia and Kitchen

This project involves extension of existing pub building to house new commercial kitchen with two storeys of dining spaces with roof top. Kematch assisted with design development and budgeting in the capacity of lead coordinating consultant through early contractor involvement (ECI). Key challenges included working with heritage façade of existing building, tight access and working on a smaller site while keeping the existing pub’s operations unrestricted.
Derby street Fit out

This project involved fit-out of social and entertainment space in existing factory/warehouse in Pascoe Vale. Works included fit-out to suit basketball court, golf simulator, gym, theatre room, poker room, kitchen and bar as well as BBQ and dining space. Project included high level of architectural finishes and details with use of timber, acoustic panelling and vibrant colours. Kematch worked closely with the architects to bring their vision to reality.
Castlemaine theatre Royal

Kematch were engaged directly by the owners of this heritage listed theatre building in Castlemaine to undertake restoration works at entry and installation of structural steel to strengthen the building façade. The disruptive works were condensed to cause minimum impact to the tenants business.
Most works required closing the footpath and pedestrian management on a busy street. Kematch worked closely with Mount Alexander Council to manage the process.

eLSTERNWICK OBSTETRICS

This project involved the conversion of a 1930's period home into a medical centre. Kematch was engaged for the base build part of this project which included the front extension, DDA compliant ramp and driveway. Kematch carefully retained the heritage elements of the existing townhouse while deploying skilled craftsmen to carefully reinstate historic pieces with attention to detail.
Dana street Dental

This project involved extension of the existing practice to incorporate 2 new surgery rooms, DDA toilet and plant room. The waiting room at the entrance was also refurbished. The new facade was to seamlessly match the existing. The works were carried out while the practice was live. Kematch worked with the team to ensure no disruptions to the daily operation including noise and dust. Kematch ensured that the patients on wheelchairs were safely escorted in and out of the main entrance which was in close proximity to the work site.
Educational Spaces
St. Jude’s Primary School

This project involves the construction of the new General Learning Building and refurbishment of the Admin and the Mackay Centre toilets. The new building is situated in the middle of the school complex making the site access very restricted, Kematch coordinated with the school to ensure operational continuity for the school.
One toilet block had to remain operational at all times, therefore Kematch worked extensively to customise the program to fulfil this requirement along with providing safe access paths for children to the toilets. All major demolition works were carried out during school holidays to minimise noise.
St. Richard’s Primary School

This project involved renovation and extension of 4 existing buildings within the school including relocation of portable classroom building, extension of classroom building, renovation of a second classroom building and extension of Library and Admin building along with associated external play areas and landscaping works.
Kematch programmed and undertook large amount of works during school holidays and shut down periods to avoid any major disruptions.
St. Roch’s Primary School

This project involved refurbishment and extension of Administration building at the school to form new entry, amenities, school offices and staff areas including new Arts and Library. Project was constructed over a single stage, divided into three distinct areas- old 1930s building, 1960s residence and new entry foyer to link the two buildings. The existing administration building had a heritage overlay and required restoration and a considerate approach.
This project has won the prestigious Architeam peoples choice award.
Covered outdoor learning area

This project involved relocation of existing Covered Outdoor Learning Area comprising of a portal framed steel structure covering entire Basketball Court. This Structure was approximately 1200m² in area and involved re-roofing of entire curvature. Kematch were also engaged as lead coordinating contractors to assist school through planning and permit process. To minimise disruptions to school’s operation, Kematch completed entire project during Christmas holiday period.

Ginifer Reserve Pavilion

This project involved extension and refurbishment of existing sporting pavilion to bring modern amenities and services to the local cricket club. Works involved new change rooms, new social room and kitchen, umpires facilities as well as public amenities. The project involved extensive demolition and structural works inside, as well as working within the confines of existing building to achieve accessible compliance. Another key challenge was the integration of extension with the existing structure.
Lakeside Drive Pavilion
Client: Hume City Council
Location: Lakeside Drive, Broadmeadows

This project will involve extending the existing pavilion, refurbishing and upgrading the internal fit-out, and constructing a fire-rated storeroom between the existing and proposed pavilion sections. Additionally, the existing accessible car park will be relocated to improve access, and a new accessible Exeloo toilet system will be installed. The project will also focus on repairing and cleaning the existing roof and plumbing systems to ensure long-term reliability.
The oval will remain operational throughout the construction.
Lois Twohig Reserve

This project involved the construction of a curator’s storage shed for Lois Twohig Reserve Pavilion. The shed will house machines and equipment for the oval. The site had restricted access, Kematch worked with the subcontractors to effectively and efficiently bring all materials and equipment to site, including structural steel with no disruptions or damage to the oval.
Hume Global Learning centre

This project involved new balustrading on the first floor of the library and learning centre in Sunbury to comply with OHS directive . Additionally, the glass on the existing balustrade was to be carefully removed and reinstalled within the new balustrades. The learning centre was to remain fully operational, due to the nature of the works it was carried out after hours and on the weekends.
This project was completed 2 weeks prior to the contracted practical completion date.
Lynda Blundell Senior Citizen Centre

This project involved the improvement of the facilities' access and compliance with the latest accessibility standard including the upgrading of accessible parking bays, the enhancement of pedestrian crossover ramps, the addition of a new accessible auto door, and the renovation of accessible bathrooms. The centre remained operational throughout the upgrade, Kematch ensured no impact to daily operation and implemented safety measures to protect visitors during construction, especially with the construction of the external ramp.
Roxburgh park homestead
